Van deze gelegenheid wil ik gebruik maken om jullie nog eens te bedanken voor de FANTASTISCHE week vakantie. Want vakantie was het wel degelijk. Wij hebben zalig genoten van ALLES: onthaal, service, info, het lekkere eten, de tussendoortjes, de babbels, de hartelijkheid, gezelligheid, ... om er maar enkele te noemen. Ook het weer was ons geweldig gunstig gestemd, maar ik ben er van overtuigd dat het zelfs bij minder goed weer ook zalig kan zijn tijdens zo'n vaarvakantie met jullie. De persoonlijke toets die jullie er aan geven is dé surplus. IK GENIET NOG ALLE DAGEN NA! En ik denk elke dag met heimwee terug aan die vaarvakantie. Ons zie je zeker nog terug op jullie 4 vaargetijden!

Well even though the weather was not nice, I enjoyed both the company and the excellent activities and meals.

Wel niettegenstaande het weer dat wij kregen, was ik heel blij met het gezelschap en de leuke vaar- en fietstochten en de aangename maaltijden !

Olga en Maurits het was weer FANTASTISCH. We hebben genoten van de reis, het gezelschap en van jullie onovertrefbaar gastvrouw en gastheerschap.

Our third trip on de 4 Vaargetijden has been as enjoyable as the previous ones thanks to the wonderful hospitality and kindness of Maurits and Olga. Delicious meals, excellent advice regarding cycling routes, helpful assistance when required and delightful cruising along the canals. Another memorable holiday we have enjoyed immensely. Sincere thanks for everything you have done.

Eten, genieten, drinken, varen, naar Maurits en zijn verhalen luisteren, vogels, sluizen, de prachtige scheepslift, Dief en Noty, en de meest fantastische, lekkere gerechten van Olga - wij hebben een prachtige tijd gehad! Hartelijk dank!

Deze week hier op het schip
was de behandeling absoluut VIP.
De keuken verzorgd door Olga,
dat was smullen zonder weerga.
En met een kapitein als Maurits,
is op de boot steeds alles kits.
De honden brengen een huiselijke sfeer,
die doet verlangen naar meer.
Ik was hier met super veel plezier,
en kom zeker terug naar hier.

Wow! What a fantastic trip! Our first time in Belgium, and Olga and Maurits are perfect hosts. We enjoyed our time talking with them about Belgium, the Merchant Marine, Belgian history, and the rivers/locks system. We enjoyed biking in the countryside (the bike trails are well marked, safe, and gorgeous), and cruising really pretty rivers. Olga's cooking is wonderful (she made different Belgian specialties every day), and we liked the other guests a lot--learned a lot of important things from them, actually. We stopped in fascinating old towns. The entire trip was great. Highly recommended. And yes, our hosts' seafaring skills are very impressive. Both of them were captains of big ships in the merchant marine.

Thank you so much for your hospitality! We have had a fantastic week of biking, barging, eating delicious meals and resting. Thank you also for not only putting up with our “gangsters”, but seizing the opportunities to teach them a few manners. You may wish to consider operating a boarding school on the barge….
