Around 1089, the people of Tournai suffered a massive epidemic poisoning by ergot. A procession from the cathedral put an end to this. Acknowledging this divine favour, Bishop Radbod decided to repeat the procession every year. And this tradition is still kept alive after 9 centuries! So discover and enjoy this colourful, historical procession that passes through the streets of Tournai on the 2nd Sunday of September. Very special to experience…
Tournai, with its 100 towers and 1000 bells, medieval Kortrijk and Oudenaarde, with the historical wall carpets, give this tour the necessary cultural touch. A beautifil bike ride along the canal at Blaton will surprise you with a visit at the castle of Beloeil, with its French gardens.
